Illegal Trafficking Is A Source, Transit, And Destination...
According to the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, Bangladesh is a source, transit, and destination for human trafficking involving women, men, and children (1). Bangladeshi men and women are lured into work under false pretenses within their own country or into neighboring countries (2). A large proportion of cross- border trafficking in Bangladesh is due to migration in search of employment. Most are subjected to forced labor or forced prostitution (3). Thousands of unreported children are trafficked from Bangladesh to other countries every year (2). Children who are taken by traffickers often come from impoverished or isolated regions. The parents are promised that their children will have a well-paid job or a nice marriage (4). Impoverished and desperate, they trust the offers, which ultimately lead their children to be exploited through trafficking (7). 3) If this is a destination country and/or if there is internal human trafficking, which forms of trafficking are common in this country? (If you think that there are no forms of trafficking happening within this country, provide citations about that and some reasons why it is not happening. The reasons don t have to be proven, but they must be plausible.) Within the country, trafficked people are subjected to sex trafficking, domestic servitude, or forced and bonded labor (7). Peace in the Middle East free essay sample
The ââ¬Å"processâ⬠of bringing peace to the Middle East has never been easy. The creation of Israel since 1948 has spurred conflicts and given rise to wars and many disputes throughout the world. It is an issue that has been worked upon through many decades but to no avail. Palestine and Arab nations canââ¬â¢t cooperate with Israelââ¬â¢s ââ¬Ëall or nothingââ¬â¢ attitude which has resulted in the killings of many innocent people and the abolition of the basic human rights for Palestinians. Peace in the Middle East is an issue of utmost importance for not just the people residing in those areas but for the world as a whole. It poses a threat to the stability around the globe and poses a question to the basic human rights that are violated in the ever-lasting war between the different regions of the Middle-East namely Palestine and Israel. According to Jimmy Carterââ¬â¢s book ââ¬ËPalestine Peace Not Apartheidââ¬â¢ Palestinians in the occupied regions are not allowed to ââ¬Å"assemble peacefully, travel without restrictions, or own property without the fear of its being confiscated by a multitude of legal rusesâ⬠. We will write a custom essay sample on Peace in the Middle East or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Having to see this kind of situation, we ask ourselves the purpose of our existence and question our own morals and values. Constant war has led to a lot of immigration of Palestinians and Israelis to the United States. Although immigration does have its benefits, but since the number of immigrants is more than what the country can currently offer, it has caused more competition for job opportunities and lessening of the standards of living within the United States. Although this might be happening on a smaller scale when considering the broader picture but it is contributing to the failure of the economy even more. Some people also argue that United States is spending a lot of dollars on Israel that might just as well be invested somewhere else is also of a concern. Annually, according to some websites we give out over a billion dollars of tax money to support Israel. This money could be put into our education system, health care system or could be used to decrease the United Sta tesââ¬â¢ debts. By investing this money for the general public, middle class people could be relieved of many taxes that they have to pay. Also, by doing this we would be creating a brighter future for the young generation who donââ¬â¢t attend schools because of financial problems. Issue of Palestine is also important based on the economic prospect of the world. If the relationships between Palestine and Israel further deteriorates, or any of the Muslim countries try to attack Israel or if Israel attacks any neighboring country the oil trade can get affected by this. Foreign countries that invest or are looking to invest in these countries for oil drilling projects may not do so because of safety issues. So I believe one of the most important benefit peace can bring is the establishment of greater trade opportunities. Thus, meaning that there might be a reduction in the prices of oil and gas which would profit ordinary citizens and also help establish more industries or busin esses. The ongoing war between Palestine and Israel is the reason that so many Palestinians are unemployed. It is the reason for so many uneducated Palestinian children. And it is the cause for immigration of Palestinians to the neighboring countries where they are mainly treated as second class citizens. All of this is widening the gap between the different regions of the world. Some parts of the world are forced into poverty and illiteracy while other parts of the world enjoy the best of the opportunities that life has to offer. Corruption, theft and other criminal activities rise when the government is shaky and people are living in horrendous circumstances. Innocent people become victims of such social ills of the society and respect for one another or the values and morals are forgotten. When the media portrays this on television or internet people learn to get used to it and slowly it changes the mindset of the people who later use the same techniques when put under similar co nditions. Thus, hatred and violence become the answer to the troubles that people might be facing. Also, by portraying war in the Middle East like the media does, people who have little or no knowledge began to stereotype and hit specific groups with racist comments. It affects me as a Muslim when I am told that terrorist organizations such as Hamas are attacking the Israel. People see just one side of a picture and it gets hard for me to depict and analyze what I think. Lastly the current situation in Middle East affects me because I am a human being. It is heart breaking to see other human beings face starvation, violence and oppression. But it is even more heart breaking to know for a fact that the situation is going to remain the same if this ââ¬Å"all or nothingâ⬠attitude remains. Both Israel and Palestine need to reach compromises to achieve peace in the holy land, peace in the Middle East and peace all over the world. Peace.

Moving On Essays - Rafter, Churn, , Term Papers
Moving On Moving On The girls, all dressed in white, uniformly marched up the red, tiled stairs. Their perfectly coiffed pony tails swinging happily behind. They were all different. Shapes. Sizes. Personality. Ability. The tension was as thick as fog on a damp fall night as they crossed into the packed gymnasium. Number 24 turned to me, gave me a quick hug, and whispered, ?This night is ours!? I smiled, knowing she was right. The whistle blew as the over-weight referee tossed the leather ball high into the air. Two, fleshy hands dripping with nervous sweat reached for the sky, desperately hoping that their finger tips touched first. A voluminous roar filled the gym, bouncing from rafter to rafter, as the white angels captured possession of the basketball. This possession, the key to victory, was shared by all. Anxious teammates shouted words of encouragement from their cold, steel chairs. Number 34 launched the ball from way behind the black, three-point arc on the wooden floor. Every sneaker-clad pair of feet lifted off the ground in a joyous, excitement-filled leap. They had scored first, the psychological battle ending with the angels victorious. The devilish opponents never saw their humiliating defeat coming. They were too self-absorbed in their own game plans. They were given no space, not even an inch to breathe or move. The angels dominated every aspect of the game, proving good will always triumph over evil. The devils' coach, clad in a pea-green suit that made the stomach churn, would not look the players in the eye. He was a proud man, with a horrible reputation and temper. After finishing the standard complimentary hand shake, number 24 tapped me on the shoulder. I quickly opened my arms and as we embraced, she whispered, ?This night is ours!? I smiled, a tear of joy streaming down my cheek, knowing that this was my last victory. Creative Writing

Mannerist in North and Renaissance Music essays
Mannerist in North and Renaissance Music essays In the visual arts the sixteenth century saw the spread of Italian Renaissance ideas northward. In some cases they were carried by Italian artists like Benvenuto Cellini, who went to work in France. Cellini was Goldsmith to Francis I of France from 1537 to 1545. He completed here his first sculpture, the Salt Cellar. He imparted the monumentality of sculpture to a goldsmith's design. The two langorous somatic types reflect the plethora of stucco work (polished like marble to imitate Roman techniques) produced by Rosso Fiorentino and Francesco Primaticcio at Fontainebleau. The style of the School of Fontainebleau and Italian Maniera is characterized by an elongation and abstraction of the poised rather than moving body, creating an unnatural elegance and sophistication. The cellar's iconography reads like a programme for sculpture. The goddess of earth, holding her breast and a cornucopia to signify her nutritive powers, is flanked by a miniature Ionic temple for pepper corns. The go d of the sea (Neptune), with trident and shell chariot, is flanked by a boat for salt. The elaborate ebony base is decorated with cartouches of reclining figures. They represent the four times of day alternating with four winds of seasons. Practical yet capricious, the cellar is a Mannerist masterpiece. Unfortunately, it was stolen from the museum and its present whereabouts is unknown. Some major northern artists, like Albrecht Drer, actually traveled to Italy. DÃ ¸rer's art was strongly influenced by Italian theories of perspective, proportion, and color, although he retained the strong interest in line typical of northern art. But not all his contemporaries showed the same interest in Italian styles. Matthias Grnewald's paintings do not show Renaissance concerns for humanism and ideal beauty; instead, they draw on traditional medieval German art to project the artist's own passionate religious beliefs, formed against the background of the...
